Open Brew Practitioners to Public Serving Again!

The Issue

Brew Practitioners is a local brewery in Florence, Massachusetts, owned by woman, Tanzania Cannon-Eckerle. After four months of being closed down, Phase Two finally allowed Brew Practitioners to open once again under state regulations (to keep the patons safe.) After the Health Department inspected the brewery, they concluded that Brew Practitioners was perfectly safe enough to open. But although Brew Practitioners has all the requirements to conduct business, and Phase Two is allowing many other breweries to open, Town Hall still prohibits the brewery from opening, saying they “don’t prepare food on site.”  Not only does Brew Practitioners sell food products such as beer, chips and peanuts, but they also allow customers to order food from local restaurants as well. Town Hall explained how food needs to be made on premise; meanwhile, other breweries are doing the same thing Brew Practitioners are doing without any repercussions. To fix this problem, Tanzania bought a popcorn machine to make and sell popcorn at her brewery. For extra measures, Tanzania’s husband, Joe Eckerle, bought food from a local business that’s also on premise. Tanzania emailed Town Hall, stating that she’s bought a popcorn machine and food from local businesses, and she would be opening on Saturday, July 18th. Minutes later, Town Hall sent Tanzania a Cease and Desist demand. Not only is this hindering Tanzania’s profits, causing Brew Practitioners to possibly shut down, but it’s hindering other local businesses’ profits as well.

Signing this petition will not only show Town Hall how much Western Massachusetts loves Brew Practitioners’ beer, but will also show how many people agree that this economic injustice isn’t right. Brew Practitioners is a special place in Florence, and will be missed by all of Western Mass if shut down. So please sign to let Brew Practitioners open for public serving again!
