Health and Wellness Battling COVID-19

Health and Wellness Battling COVID-19
Do you value your health and wellness? How important do you believe it is during the pandemic? Sign this petition as we continue our momentum to change the rhetoric of health and public safety, bringing health and wellness to the forefront in battling COVID-19. As Americans, each of us in the face of this every day. This pandemic and fighting it is more than just wearing masks and social distancing.
Please understand that this message is in no way discussing vaccinated versus non-vaccinated or anything related to masks, etc. Over the past 2 years, we have been living through the COVID-19 pandemic. We have all been asked to do our part to stay safe, protect ourselves and others. This has been engrained in us with mandates and strong messages around masking, social distancing and washing our hands.
This message is strictly related to health and wellness and COVID-19. Being in the fitness industry and specifically in the business of supplements and vitamins, our concern with the past and current messaging is that NO ONE in leadership within the states of Kentucky or Indiana, or in Washington are talking about health and wellness and battling this disease.
In a study released through the National Institute of Health (NIH), published in March, 2021 – 64% of hospitalizations might have been prevented if not for the patients have one or more of the following underlying conditions: obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and heart failure. Here are the facts…all of these conditions have been shown to impair the body’s immune system.
Moreover, scientists in the field have been continuously reviewing and updating stats and information as it relates specifically to obesity and its implications with COVID-19 mortality. Researchers are stating that aggressive therapy for patients with obesity and COVID 19 infections need to be happening. Its also important to note that these underlying conditions, and specifically obesity, is an issue that is prevalent at all age ranges when associated with COVID-19. In another study of patients from age 18-45, those admitted to the hospital had a BMI greater than 30.
Here's the message…We are trying to change the rhetoric. There is no more important time than NOW for everyone to place their attention on health and wellness. This is not just through putting on a mask and washing our hands. This is about eating right, getting in physical activity throughout the week, and maintain a healthy body weight. These areas will help us combat diseases and infections. We have already had meetings with top Kentucky leadership that represents us in Washington. Right now, all they are doing is listening and not stepping up and taking action. Its going to take all of us pushing these leaders and telling them to come together with a message of health and wellness. We are at the grass roots level of putting things together and getting our message heard. We would love for you to join us. We are going to change the world!!!
