The fact that these companies can use Dave's name and likeness however they want without paying him is an injustice to his human rights. The show was not possible or successful without him and he should be paid for his work.

While I don't want to believe it is race related unfortunately our society and the entertainment industry have a history of racial injustice. Just because he signed a contract that he never fully understood should not give these companies the right to take what is his and use it however they want.

The fact that this show is still relevant and popular after 14 years of its end shows that his work has brought joy, laughter and inspiration to many people of all ages, races and backgrounds. We should not stand by and allow these big money corporations steal from a man that put his hard work into something he loved. The contract should be voided and all rights returned to Dave as well as being compensated for this injustice.

If you love Dave and his work I urge you to sign this petition and if successful we may get to see more of his great work the way he wants to do it and not on the terms of a contract that was signed in a time of desperation and he did not fully understand as a young man just trying to make a name to support his family and follow his dreams.
