Keep Hanauma Bay closed thru the end of the 2020 & demand a new use plan for this bay!!

The Issue

Our beautiful Hanauma Bay is finally thriving again and starting to repair it's self!

One thing is undeniable, the CoronaVirus has been good for all of our Islands and the whole World's environmental health overall. The State did not hesitate to shut down the Bay and other parks for the benefit of the humans now is the time to do the same for some of the animals and areas we so vastly want to protect.

I would like to see Hanauma Bay stay shut thru the end of the year so that it can continue to recover from decades and decades of over use, pollution and disregard for its health not only today but longterm and moving forward.

I would like to see a full review of it's usage plans and consideration made to wether our previous course is best for the real and non monetary interest of the Bay.

The people of Hawaii and the Department of Land and Natural Resources really need to reevaluate their current use plan and see if this is something the people of Hawaii want to continue. Should we limit the amounts of access to the Bay daily thru a lottery system our online reservation system with priority to residents? Should there be a one month on one month off approach, or a one quarter of the year on and then another one quarter of the year off and it's close?. Do we limit the amount of time people have on the beach so it's not a whole day stay and play? Should the Bay and access to it follow a system similar to that of the off shore fishing schedule?

I do not profess to be a marine biologist or to know what is the best plan for the best health of the Bay but continuing to allow its overuse for the gain of the all mighty dollar is just not good enough anymore.
