This petition is being made regarding Haverhill public schools resource Officer Steve Iannalfo who has shown on several occasions he has a difficult time with tolerance towards adolescents. He has shown this not only by his actions, but in his abuse of power demonstrated in the documents he has fabricated and/or twisted against minor children. He has expressed his lack of care and concern for our middle school children. He is a resource officer for our school system who’s first response should not be to place criminal charges. Officer —-should be placed in a different environment that does not involve adolescents due to his behavior. Our children need a person of authority to be supportive and understanding of the many conflicts and changes that take place during these maturation years at middle school. A student resource officer should not pass prejudice, nor act on it especially in a way that can cause further damage to a child that may be having difficulties. This man does not understand as an adult, the influential role he potentially has in a students life. Nonetheless, he should be removed from his position, before any more damage is caused by his negligence.
