Hello, I'm a cashier at Winco in Elk Grove and would rather stay anonymous so I will not be giving out my name, hope you can understand. As the petition says, Winco needs to schedule more cashiers so there's not only four or five of them on daily basis.And for some reason if a lot of were to call out, then they should let the cashiers who are there know that from the start of their shifts so they can know what to expect the second they clock in so its not a surprise to them. Adding onto the last topic, they should also give us bonuses or pay us overtime while theres only four or five cashiers there for the day since we have to work twice as hard as we would have to if there was a full staff there, since as it stands now we don't get anything for having to deal with a full store for however long our shift is, so I think thats only fair. Since I don't know about the other cashiers, but its very stressful to walk into the store and only seeing four cashiers or five cashiers and the store being crowded on some ordinary Monday or something like that. And i've been able to tell that a lot of cashiers don't enjoy only having 4 or 5 other cashiers there as well just by looking at their eyes since they too are also feeling like they getting overworked as well, and thats not right to at all. I get that we're in a pandemic, thats already stress on everyone, but to also have to stress about working so hard one day just to wake and do it all over again the day, and the next day, and the next day just doesn't sit right me. And it shouldn't sit right with any of the cashiers there either. Now I cant speak for the of course, but I'd like to think that I'm not far off with this thought process. It would also help the customers as well since they would be able get their groceries more quickly and not have to worry about being in a crowed store, especially with all of these COVID-19 mutations going on and since the store is so crowed, theres no way for anyone to social distance since they don't have the space to do so. If we are able have cashiers, it not only help the cashiers but it also helps the customers since there would be more lanes opened, less stress for both the cashiers and the customers so all in all, its a win-win situation.
