Nintendo’s video game franchise “Splatoon” has a massive following overseas as well as in Japan, with many people in said fanbase loving the game and collecting merchandise for it. However, there’s a clear difference in what Nintendo gives to Japan, and what they give to America and Europe. In Japan, stores are littered with everything from Splatoon squid gummies to candy with a dress up inkling doll inside, with collectible changeable clothes. In America, it’s hard sometimes to even find the game in stores, let alone any merchandise for the game. Speaking from experience, the most i’ve seen in a store was an amiibo on sale in a game stop and a small purple squid plush. 

With the release of Splatoon 3 just around the corner, many people have had a piqued interest in Splatoon. However there’s nothing for the fans to collect in stores in the US that they can get to show their love for Splatoon. That’s why I’d like to make a change. 

We Splatoon fans ask that the US and EU get more Splatoon merch, such as translated art books that tell us the lore (such as Haikara Walker), more plushies, more amiibo, and more of whatever fun merch they have in Japan, like those kisekae inkling candy dolls. Splatoon’s fanbase is just as large in the west as it is in the east, and we want more to collect from our favorite game.
