With League of Ireland game attendances continuing to rise and more and more people tuning in to watch the games on tv it is up to us to eliminate incompetence.

On Monday 29th April Shamrock Rovers faced Drogheda United at Tallaght Stadium. Shamrock Rovers were winning 3-0 when Drogheda player Jack Keaney was sent off for a last man challenge. After reviewing the footage it was quite clear that Jack Keaney didn't come into contact with the Shamrock Rovers attacker. The Shamrock Rovers player went down through simulation.

Rob Hennessy was the referee of the game. He is a good referee who has refereed games on an international level. However, he has made a number of very big mistakes. 

Drogheda United appealed to have the red card rescinded on Tuesday 30th April. However, the FAI rejected the appeal and Jack Keaney must serve a 1 match ban.

This was absolutely ridiculous. I plead with everyone who reads this petition to sign this petition as we need to remove incompetence from the League of Ireland. We need to have this decision overturned for the future of Irish football.
