Harvey Nichols: Reinstate your previous fur-free policy!

Department store Harvey Nichols has gone back on their fur free policy from 2004 and started selling real fur again. A simple browse through their online shop shows that they are using rabbits, minks, foxes, raccoons and coyotes. They claim that they are only using fur that is ‘ethically sourced and humanely farmed’. Fur is cruel no matter how you obtain it. They also sell faux fur so there is no reason for them to be selling real fur.
Please ask Harvey Nichols to reinstate their fur free policy and stick to it.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am petitioning you today to reverse the decision to go back on your fur free policy and drop all items that contain fur from your stores. Fur is not a cruelty free product. Animals on killed for their fur are subjected to spending their lives in dirty and cramped wire cages before being poisoned, gassed, suffocated or electrocuted to death. Some are even skinned alive. By selling real fur items in your stores and online, your are actively contributing to the death and suffering of millions of animals. As a consumer, I do not shop where such cruelty is promoted. You already sell faux fur items, so surely there is no need to sell real fur? Many top outlets already have a ban on real fur, are you going to be the ones lagging behind on the times? Please do the compassionate thing by reinstating your ban on fur and stick to it.
Thank you for reading.
