We have certain dog breeds that are being banned from our homes. 

Pitbulls, American bullies, Bulldogs, Boxers, Sherman Shepard's, Rottweiler s etc.. These breeds are being targeted through no fault of there own. NYCHA has banned our pets for many years and we hide them, protect them and love them. But now NYCHA is changing hands, the new pact program converging to Section 8 and we pet owners are being given a year to relocate our pets / family members. Where are they supposed to go, the only option euthanasia, that's is not an option.  We pet owners must stand together and ask for change. Vicious they are called, but who makes them this way, human beings, all dogs are not vicious or destructive, they learn what they are taught and what they are forced to become. I've lived I'n NYCHA since the age of sixteen, I am now 62, I've always had dogs in my life.

I've had my dog for ten years, she was my mom's service dog, she was trained to alert  me or her home attendant if  my mom tried to open the door, my mom had parkinson's and Alzheimer's, so she couldn't remember who we were or where she was going. My mom passed four years ago and my dog has become depressed, yes dogs suffer from depression when they lose a loved one. Our pet was her guardian to keep her safe and well and now my repayment is to put her down, I don't think so. There  immunizations are up to date they have licenses and one of them is neutered. So now I have to get rid of my dog because she's a Staffordshire Terrier, no way am I putting my pet out to be euthanized or sheltered, there are thousands of banned dog breeds in NYCHA. I'm asking for help and support with this issue.  When politicians and Community leaders want to climb that corporate ladder they ask for our help, our votes now Im asking  you all to help us as individuals and as a community. I know many people are not going to be happy with this petition, because many don't like the breeds for whatever there reason, but there are many evil people, people  that we must live with and tolerate and these are some of the same people that give the breed a bad reputation.
