We, the undersigned, as parents and taxpaying citizens of the Haralson County School District, are petitioning the School Board for the removal of Brett Stanton as the Superintendent of Haralson County Schools.

We, the parents and taxpayers, do not feel that Stanton has the children's best interests at heart. Stanton is blatantly making decisions about the future of the children without seeking input and giving feedback to the parents and taxpayers. 

Due to his recent actions, Stanton does not have the respect of many parents and community members in the district. Through his actions, Stanton has shown to be manipulative, secretive and dishonest on many different issues.

Finally, we feel that creating an educational program that meets the needs of thousands of students requires the input of hundreds or even thousands of stakeholders. One person acting alone cannot see all the possible ramifications of such changes for the thousands of families in the district. Stanton has shown that he is not a leader who is willing to seek input, but a leader who chooses to do things his way. This level of disregard was not only proven in the Haralson County School System, but also evident when he was Principal of an undisclosed Valdosta City School.

When we, the tax paying citizens of Haralson County, elected each of you to a position on the Haralson County School Board, we did so believing that you had the well-being and best interest of our students and employees at heart.  We charge you to do your duty and stop the tyranny that has begun within our wonderful system.

For these above reasons, we respectfully request that the Haralson County School Board remove Stanton immediately from the position of Superintendent
