Hands Off Our Children!

Hands Off Our Children!
The Issue
This petition is submitted in support of the Black Mothers March national sign-on letter demanding the repeal of CAPTA and ASFA and the reinvestment of federal “funding allocated to states’ “child welfare systems”—what directly impacted people, scholars, and advocates often call the family policing, or family regulation system—directly into families, states, and community-based nonprofit organizations doing frontline family support work.
Families across the United States are calling for an end to policies that result in family separation, surveillance of marginalized communities, and financial systems that prioritize removal over family integrity. We support reallocating funding toward housing stability, economic support, healthcare access, non-punitive mental health services, and direct family assistance delivered through trusted community organizations.
By signing, we stand in solidarity with families nationwide demanding policy change that protects family unity, dignity, and community wellbeing.
Family Statement of Support
By signing this petition, I affirm:
I support the repealing of CAPTA and ASFA. We are not requesting that it be reenacted or given another name. Govermental sanctioned kidnapping must end NOW!!!I We support ending financial incentives tied to foster system placement, and adoption quotas. We demand the government to keep its hands off our children!
I support reinvesting federal funding directly into states for the purposes of supporting nonprofits and other community-based organizations that truly serve families and keep fami I ies in tact.
I believe families should be supported with resources, not punished for poverty, structural inequality or false claims of medical abuse. The system fails us everyday, it has never been capable of caring for children and the data proves this. The data also proves that children are safer at home with the families that love them and want them.
We the undersigned demand an end to this domestic terrorism. An end to state aid that incentives family policing, state sanctioned kidnapping, state sanctioned homelessness, state sanctioned single parentage and abuse from state sanctioned child isolation. It all must end NOW!
