Al Green, born Albert Leornes Greene, is an iconic American singer, songwriter, and pastor known for his influential contributions to soul music in the early 1970s. His hit singles, such as "Tired of Being Alone," "I'm Still in Love with You," "Love and Happiness," "Take Me to the River," and "Let's Stay Together," have left a lasting impact on the music industry. After a personal tragedy, Green shifted his focus to gospel music, eventually becoming an ordained pastor. Despite this shift, he later returned to secular music. In addition to his musical career, Green pursued a legal education, earning a JD from Texas Southern University. He has served as a representative for the 9th Congressional District at the US House of Representatives and as a Justice of the Peace in Harris County.
