Say “NO” to 14-Story Cell Tower by Our Homes & Nature Park

Say “NO” to 14-Story Cell Tower by Our Homes & Nature Park
The Issue
If everyone who signed the petition, contributes to our GoFundMe, we can afford to secure an expert to represent us.
SHOW UP for the PUBLIC HEARING this Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm, November 16…and remember - WEAR RED!!! The meeting is at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville GA 30046.
Residents who live in the Hamilton Mill community OPPOSE the installation of a wireless tower that will be as high as a 14-STORY building, in our front and back yards.
The tallest structure in our residential area, is 3-stories high. A 14-story monopole is TOO TALL for our zoned residential area. It is disproportionally tall compared to any other structure in our area.
The proposed site is being built to offload capacity from one other AT&T tower already in our area. We DON’T want it close to us, and it won’t reach any further than 2000 feet from the installation site.

Cell towers near residential areas DECREASE PROPERTY VALUES, degrade the character of existing single-family neighborhoods, and devalue nearby land that’s currently under development, like Pickens Landing.
Cell towers near designated green space - like Little Mulberry Park - harm the natural habitat, harm the industry free landscape, and disrupt the intentional tranquility that’s been purposely preserved for our families to enjoy.
Cell towers are not allowed in residential areas because debris - such as ice and equipment - can fall from the top of the tower, causing injury/death to people below the structure. There are reports of high towers catching on fire, winds creating vortex shedding which compromises structure integrity, and catastrophic tower collapses, which could seriously injure/kill people, and damage property in the underlying vicinity - like those traveling on Jim Moore Road, the road itself, and the homes, fences, and backyards of my neighbors. NOTE - Should the tower cause death/injury, or property damage, AT&T has shifted their liability to the contractor responsible for it’s installation and maintenance. Are CitySwitch and Ignite Wireless financially equipped to handle liabilities of that nature?!
I request that our Gwinnett County Chairwoman, Ms. Nicole Hendrickson, our District 3 Commissioner, Mr. Jasper Watkins III, and the entire Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, DENY the proposal submitted by CitySwitch and Ignite Wireless, to install such an unsightly and overbearing, 14-story wireless structure (that’s contracted to support 48 antennas & 4 microwave dishes!), near our homes and our serene nature park, where we live, sleep, raise our children, care for our elderly parents, recreate and thrive.
I also ask CitySwitch and Ignite Wireless to withdraw their proposal, because Gwinnett County’s Planning and Development Department is recommending that the Board of Commissioners approve a tower NO HIGHER THAN 100 feet - which is 50 feet LESS than the height AT&T specified for meeting the RF requirements needed to improve connectivity service in our area.
