Zoning changes at Parcel 112/020 calls for a retail convenience store with a drop lot/ storage area for semi-trucks. If this zoning goes through the surrounding landscape of this area will be dramatically and negatively altered. This would greatly disrupt our community life and aggravate traffic conditions. With the elementary school being on the opposite end of Maddox road this would also negatively impact bus routes and put children safety into jeopardy. We are trying to urge the zoning committee to rethink their decisions and consider the detrimental impacts it could have on the elderly, families, and children of this area. The addition of such a commercial structure in a primarily residential area could potentially escalate traffic congestion, could pose safety risks to children, and negatively affect home values.
