Our democracy, cherished for its freedom and equality, is gradually morphing towards dictatorship. As a concerned citizen, I fear losing the core values that set our nation apart. President Trump's intention of shutting down government agencies paves a path towards reduced transparency and accountability. Defending our democracy means maintaining these crucial bodies that keep checks and balances in place.

Furthermore, the implementation of tariffs threatens economic stability.  to the Federal Reserve's study, the tariffs have resulted in job losses and higher prices for consumers (Source: Federal Reserve).

Moreover, Medicare and Medicaid, public programs that provide many Americans, including me, health care security are at risk. These indispensable programs support approximately 60 million and 70 million Americans respectively, as per the data by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Lastly, the idea of doing away with Elon Musk and the department of government efficiency does not complement the democratic platform that encourages innovation and seeks efficient government services. Rather than eradication, these institutions require constructive dialogues and reforms for betterment.
