Just like many others, I have fond memories of enjoying sunny days at the local beaches of East Devon, taking a refreshing dip into the sea without worry or hesitation. However, things have changed drastically. Our joy is being robbed by continuous sewage discharges, sometimes as much as 4-5 times a week, making the idea of a clean, invigorating swim nothing short of a nightmare.

Recent increases in sewage discharges into our seas are causing serious environmental and health repercussions. The negative effects go beyond personal enjoyment and invade the realm of public safety. Research shows that exposure to contaminated water can cause several health problems ranging from minor illnesses to potentially deadly diseases.
