The Issue

I live in the rural Municipality of Griffin No. 66, SK. - Weyburn RM.67 Southeast of Weyburn SK,Canada and so does my family. Like many in our community, we are deeply affected by the planned location of the Seven Stars Energy Project (formerly the Weyburn Wind Project). We are worried about the possible negative impacts on our beloved town, hamlets, Farms and acreages and the families that have been part of it for generations.

In recent years, studies have shown that wind farms can potentially cause a series of environmental problems in populated areas, including noise pollution and harm to local wildlife (UN Report on Renewable Energy and its Environmental Effects, 2020). While we understand the importance of renewable energy projects for sustainable future, we believe there are more appropriate locations than our home, Griffin No. 66, where these impacts could be minimized or null.

Our appeal is simple: Relocate the Seven Stars Energy Project to a less populated area where it won't impact daily lives and local ecosystems as deeply, or halt the project entirely until a suitable location is found.

Help us protect our home and the peace of our community. Sign this petition and support us in our bid to stop or relocate the Seven Stars Energy Project.
