Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that the Metropolitan Development Commission (MDC) hearing about the data center project is WEDNESDAY! This may or may not be our last chance to fight this (depending on what our City-County Councilor does), so we need as many remonstrators as possible at this hearing! We don’t think this one will be continued (as the July 16 hearing was), but there are no guarantees, so keep a close eye on your e-mail up until you leave for the hearing.
When: Wednesday, 8/20/25 at 1PM
Where: Buert SerVaas Public Assembly Room
City-County Building, 2nd Floor
200 East Washington Street
Indianapolis IN 46204
A few reminders:
1. Be sure to allow plenty of time to park. Parkwhiz, Parkopedia or other websites can help you find available parking garages in the area.
2. Be sure to allow plenty of time to get through the security line. Check out this link for details on the security process and what is/isn’t allowed through security.
3. Bring your patience (and maybe a book to read). We are only one of many items on the MDC’s docket for the day.
4. Be prepared to stand when we ask who is present in opposition to (or to remonstrate against) the data center.
5. Be respectful when the petitioner’s lawyer is speaking. The MDC is not patient with interruptions during anyone’s testimony. We’ll have our chance on rebuttal. Don’t antagonize the commissioners by blurting out comments – even if their lawyer says something outrageous (which he has been known to do).
Thank you everyone for your letters of opposition, links to relevant articles and expressions of support!
Let me know if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you!
