This Wednesday (8/20) at 1pm in the Indianapolis City County Building at 200 E Washington St the Metropolitan Development Commission will review the rezoning for the Google Data Center on the SE side of Indianapolis in Franklin Township.
-Under Indiana’s Laws AI Data Centers receive massive tax breaks up to 50yrs costing billions to the tax payers.
-Water Usage Up to 2,000,000 gallons a day
-Unknown Power usage but AES and Indiana’s Governor stated there is not enough power.
-Possible higher power bills to pay for system upgrades and power usage
-Health Impacts to surrounding neighbors
-5-10 years of construction impacting road conditions
-Homes on wells surrounding the development. Multiple news articles stating AI data centers are impacting water wells
-Commentments from developers(Google) are no benefit. They only protect themselves.
-Multiple large building the size of IKEA. The developers commentments also allow them to add more buildings as needed.
There is no benefit to our small town community, to Indianapolis, or Indiana.
