Halt the Proposed Construction of Biosolid Facility Near Little Cat

Halt the Proposed Construction of Biosolid Facility Near Little Cat
The Issue
As a resident deeply invested in the rich biodiversity and essential ecosystem of Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, the proposed construction of a biosolid (sewage sludge) and organic waste processing facility by the City of Kingston is exceedingly distressing. The sanctuary that Little Cat offers to local wildlife, and the community, is invaluable.
The impending decision threatens to unleash significant environmental repercussions. Noise, light pollution, and the off-gassing of harmful substances like carbon dioxide and methane from the facility have the potential to disrupt the serene habitat of Little Cat and its inhabitants. These impacts extend far beyond blanket environmental concerns, penetrating deep into the roots of local flora and fauna, scrambling ecosystems, and disrupting the natural balance in ways that are often irreversible.
Preservation and prioritization of natural spaces such as Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is a responsibility all residents of Kingston and Ontario. We must make an urgent stand and inform the City of Kingston that its current plans for a biosolid facility are unacceptable.
I implore all concerned citizens, local and global environmentalists to join us in this fight to protect Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. Take a stand. Say 'No' to this proposed construction. Sign this petition and let your voice resonate with ours - for Little Cat, for Kingston, for the environment!
