Halt the Misuse of Channels for Harassment and Abuse of Content Creators
The Issue
I am not alone in this fight. A certain content creator has been using their platform to harass, abuse, and even dox me and my family. They have stooped so low as to zoom in on pictures in my room during live streams, asking their audience if they recognize me or know where I live. They've called us nasty names and taken my videos to repost on their channel with the sole purpose of harassment.
This person doesn't stop at just one channel - when YouTube removes the offensive content, they simply create another channel and continue with their abusive behavior. This is not an isolated incident; many others in our community have suffered similar experiences.
According to a 2017 study by Ditch The Label, one of the largest anti-bullying nonprofits in the world, 14% of young people experience cyberbullying on a regular basis (source: Ditch The Label). This statistic shows that online harassment is not only prevalent but also persistent - much like what we are experiencing now.
We need your support to put an end to this misuse of channels for personal attacks. We call upon YouTube's policy makers to implement stricter measures against repeat offenders who create multiple channels for harassment purposes. We demand justice for all victims who have had their privacy invaded and peace disrupted by such malicious acts.
Please sign this petition today; let's stand together against online bullying and ensure safe digital spaces for all content creators.
