This simple function allows me to maintain direct communication with my mother instead of relying on the school's phone, which can impose an unnecessary barrier in cases of personal urgency.

Proponents argue that Yondr pouches – smartphone-locking devices proposed for implementation in our school – might enhance student focus by limiting smartphone distractions. However, this seemingly beneficial tool stands to compromise essential aspects of students' lives, specifically safety and mental health, vastly overriding its intended benefits. Apart from impeding direct communication with parents, these pouches may inadvertently contribute to significantly increased stress and anxiety levels among students, impacting their overall mental health.
