Halt the Implementation of Universal Credits

Halt the Implementation of Universal Credits
The Issue
As a hardworking individual, I find it deeply frustrating and outright unfair to observe the negative impacts of the universal credits system. It seems that those who choose not to work benefit more from this system than those who labor arduously on a daily basis.
This is not an isolated sentiment. Many other employed persons share this sentiment, and it's a clear indication that there is a grave flaw in the current system of universal credits. This is because Universal Credits is introducing a flat rate system that does not reflect the income of working individuals. Latest statistics reveal that an estimated 5.9 million workers would lose out under this new model (source: House of Commons Library).
This system should serve as a safety net for those in need - people unable to work due to disability, sickness, or as a temporary support for those actively seeking employment. However, the current implementation unfairly privileges certain groups and leaves hardworking citizens feeling undervalued.
This is not a call to punish those who do not work, but rather, a plea to ensure that the distribution of benefits is equitable and proportionate. We urge the government to reconsider the Universal Credits system, to make it fairer to all. Together, we can bring about a change that truly considers the needs of everyone in our society.
Sign this petition if you want to see an end to this flawed and unbalanced system.
