Halt the Implementation of the Safety Valve Bill

The Issue

My son, who is autistic and has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), is in special provision and holds an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The proposed safety valve bill threatens to undermine his rights, along with those of countless other children in similar situations. This bill could potentially limit the resources available to children with SEND, which are already scarce. According to a report by the National Education Union (NEU), 94% of local authorities in England have experienced a real-terms cut in funding for 'high needs' students since 2015. This bill would only exacerbate these issues further. We cannot let this happen. Our children deserve better - they deserve adequate support and resources to help them thrive educationally, socially, and emotionally. We urge you to stand with us against this detrimental legislation that threatens our most vulnerable citizens' right to education. Please sign this petition today!
