Our barangay used to be full of tall, green pine trees, making it a beautiful and peaceful place. But now, things have changed. Illegal logging has destroyed many trees, and our community looks very different.

This is not just about how our place looks. Cutting down trees harms animals, damages nature, and makes global warming worse. The Philippines is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, but sadly, it also has one of the highest deforestation rates. We have already lost 70% of our original forests.

Baguio is called the "City of Pines," but if we keep cutting down trees, it will lose its true identity. These trees are part of our culture and help keep nature balanced. Destroying them puts our environment and future generations at risk.

We are asking our local and national government to take action now. They should enforce stricter rules against illegal logging and start tree-planting programs.
