Halt the Flow of Tithing Dollars to BYU-Provo

Halt the Flow of Tithing Dollars to BYU-Provo
The Issue
This is a deeply personal issue for me. I strongly believe in the practice of tithing, but I cannot stand by whilst my hard-earned money supports an institution that I view as fundamentally corrupt: BYU-Provo. I want to clarify that this call does not involve BYU-Idaho and BYU-Hawaii, as I do not see the same issues with these institutions.
In addition, there are far more dire causes that demand priority of "the Lord's money" be given to them.
For many faithful tithers within the Latter-Day Saint religion, the issue here is not about the principle of tithing, but about where that money truly goes. The Church collected an estimated $7 billion in tithing annually (Bloomberg, 2012). A significant share of these funds supports the education institutions, notably, BYU-Provo. And yet, there is a strong belief, including my own, that the institution isn't following the values we expect and uphold.
I believe we have the right to ensure that our faith-driven contributions genuinely support the causes and institutions that adhere to the values we hold dear. Therefore, I urge the Church to cease any allocation of tithing funds to BYU-Provo until such a time as the institution reforms, thus assuaging the concerns of its contributors. This change would provide tithers like myself with reassurance and confidence that our hard-earned money goes towards institutions that uphold the very values we seek to support through our practice of tithing.
Please stand with me in demanding the halt on tithing dollars going to BYU-Provo. Sign this petition today. Thank you and have a great day!
