As a deeply concerned member of the Robinson Huron Treaty (RHT) annuitants and signatories, I am alarmed by the recent changes in the distribution of our treaty funds. The RHT funds, which rightfully belong to us - both on and off reserve - has plans to be distributed without our legal consent or consultation. This is not just an infringement on our rights but also a blatant disregard for our voices.

The Indigenous Services of Canada had previously been responsible for this distribution, ensuring that it was done fairly and transparently. However, this responsibility has now been given to the Robinson Huron Treaty Litigation Fund (RHTLF), an entity that has proceeded with its duties without consulting us or seeking our consent.

This lack of transparency is unacceptable. We are being left out from decisions about how OUR fund will be used or distributed. Information about these decisions is being presented in meetings and sessions we were never consulted on.

We demand that this process be halted immediately until proper consultations can take place with all RHT annuitants and signatories involved. We insist that Indigenous Services Canada resume its role in distributing these funds to ensure fairness and transparency.
