As a resident of the Wasaga Sands community, I am proud to live amidst the green spaces that surround us, this is the reason majority have bought, built and moved to the neighbourhood. The Wasaga Sands community was designed originally as an estate neighbourhood surrounded by these green spaces, including the golf course. We currently have balance between development and nature.

However, this balance is under threat due to proposed developments on the old Wasaga Sands golf course (Twin Creeks development)by Achille development. The developers plan to fill in ponds that serve as home to a diverse range of wildlife and build high-density housing in an area that has always been known for its estate neighbourhoods. This not only disrupts our local ecosystem but also threatens to change the character of our beloved community.

Moreover, these plans will lead to an increase in traffic flow—an issue for which our area was never designed. According to Statistics Canada 2016 Census data, Wasaga Beach has seen a population growth rate of 17.9% since 2011 - one of the fastest-growing communities in Ontario. Our infrastructure is already strained; further increasing traffic would exacerbate this issue.

We must stand up against this proposed development and fight for preservation over profit. We need your support so we can maintain the characteristics that make Wasaga Beach special—a harmonious blend of residential areas and natural beauty.
