My family and I live directly across from where the proposed RaceTrac gas station and market is set to be built on the SE corner of Pine Island and Sunrise Blvd, in Plantation, FL. We are deeply concerned about this development as it threatens not only our home's value but also our safety. It's a well-documented fact that gas stations can bring crime to an area (National Institute of Justice). This is not just a worry for us, but for all residents in Jacaranda Lakes who will be affected by this development.

Moreover, studies have shown that proximity to such establishments can negatively impact property values (Appraisal Journal). Our homes represent our most significant investments. We should not have to watch their value diminish because of a decision we did not make or support.
