Loreto Convent Darjeeling, a place of peace, grace, and natural beauty, has been my sanctuary and that of countless others. The lush gardens, the tranquil surroundings, and the breathtaking views have not merely served as a scenic backdrop to our education— they are the very heart of it, imbuing us with values and inspiration we carried into our lives.

Today, these cherished landscapes, a reflection of God's creation in its purest form, are under threat. Loreto Convent, in its endeavor to make space for a concrete structure, is on the verge of desecrating the serenity of these garden slopes. This course of action would not only mar the inherent charm of the institution but also risk the ecological stability of the region.

The loss of this green space would mean the defacement of the majestic beauty of the school. Additionally , it could potentially increase the risk of landslides due to soil erosion, a significant concern in hilly regions such as ours.

Our plea is to stop this irreversible transformation. We call for Loreto Convent Darjeeling management to reconsider their decision and preserve this bastion of natural beauty for future generations. Indeed, development is necessary, but not at the expense of the environment that enriches us and encapsulates the spirit of Loreto.
