As residents living less than 500 feet from the proposed site for an asphalt and concrete plant at the Elle Bell Mine in Fairplay, we are deeply concerned about this development. Our concerns extend beyond just proximity. We fear for our health due to potential emissions from the plant that could pollute our air. The risk of water pollution is also a significant worry given how close this project is to the Platte River. The environmental impact cannot be underestimated either; increased traffic issues, noise pollution, light pollution will disrupt not only human lives but also local wildlife.

Moreover, we fear that this industrial intrusion into our peaceful town will devalue properties significantly. This isn't just about preserving what we have now; it's about safeguarding what future generations should rightfully inherit - clean air to breathe in a healthy environment surrounded by nature.
