My name is Carl R. Tinao. My grandparents are residents of Brgy. Navitas, Malinao, Aklan and I am deeply concerned about the proposed construction of a poultry farm in our community. This project threatens not only  small businesses but also our environment.

Navitas is a very small community where its citizens live on a simple life such as farming and raising livestocks such as chicken and pigs. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy and this poultry farm could force many to shut down due to increased competition and decreased customer base. It also produces too much traffic for such a small community such as Navitas with the number of large trucks that will be utilized for the poultry farm. Furthermore, the construction would require deforestation which would disrupt local ecosystems. 

The waste produced by chickens can also be harmful if not properly managed. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), chicken waste can contaminate water sources if not handled correctly leading to diseases like E.coli or Salmonella that pose serious health risks for humans.

This is more than just an economic issue; it's about preserving our community's way of life and protecting our natural resources for future generations.
