Halt the Construction of a Methadone Clinic in Winchester, Baltimore

The Issue

The establishment of the methadone clinic is alarmingly developing only three doors away from my home. Like many of my neighbors, I repeatedly addressed inquiries to the builders about their quite mysterious project, only to be met with an unsettling silence. We, the close-knit community of homeowners, renters, and parents of school-aged children were denied the opportunity to voice our opinions prior to the initiation of this project in Winchester, Baltimore. Our concerns stem not only from our absence in decision-making, but from the sobering fact that another similar facility is already functioning within a walking distance. This suggests a lack of consideration for the residential nature of our neighborhood.

No other commercial business exists in close proximity and introducing a Methadone clinic in an otherwise family-oriented area significantly heightens safety concerns. The lack of transparency and blatant disregard for the wellbeing of our community is dissatisfactory and paints a distressing image of what Winchester, Baltimore can become if this precedent is tolerated.

We request an immediate halt to the development of this methadone clinic and seek the involvement of responsible authorities in open dialogues regarding future building projects in our residential vicinity. Stand with us in protecting our community's fabric, sign this petition.
