I am a resident with a home overseeing Crystal Lake, a treasure of natural beauty that we are lucky and proud to have. Construction has recently commenced on a 190-foot cell tower which not only penetrates my view of the serene lake but also disrupts the beauty that Crystal Lake offers to its neighbors. This abrupt intrusion must be halted to preserve our visual connection and overall environmental aesthetic of the lake. 

This situation isn't unique to us. Increasingly, communities throughout the world are raising the alarm against such construction disruptions. A study by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (US) indicated potential effects of such towers can extend beyond visual disturbance, creating potential health effects due to the radiation emitted.

Our local economies could also suffer. An analysis by the Spatial Economics Research Centre found that areas of natural beauty can positively impact the local property markets, suggesting our home values could decrease with the tarnishing of Crystal Lake's attractiveness.

It is with these concerns in mind that we urge the relevant authorities to cease construction of the cell phone tower on Crystal Lake's shore immediately. We must protect the scenic beauty that our region is heralded for, not mar it with industrial interference. Please sign this petition to join us in preserving the pristine charm of Crystal Lake.
