The Issue

For many of us from Cherry Hill, Mt Laurel and all the way to Bensalem, XL Sports World is not just a sports facility, it's a haven of friendships, competition, and cherished memories. Adult Volleyball leagues have been part of this community for years, serving as a gathering place for hundreds who share a passion for the sport. From late-night games to weekend open gyms, these moments have knitted a close-knit community that transcends the boundaries of a typical sports league.

The renovation of XL Sports World threatens to dismantle a beloved tradition. While upgrades may seem beneficial, they have not been planned with the consideration of the Volleyball leagues that call these facilities home. The renovations could displace players and disrupt schedules, effectively cutting off an essential community lifeblood.

During times when community connections are more crucial than ever, it's vital to retain spaces that nurture these bonds. These facilities provide more than just a sport to play; they offer an escape, a stress reliever, and a source of joy and camaraderie amidst daily responsibilities.

Instead of proceeding with renovations that could potentially disregard the needs of these leagues, let’s seek a solution that consults with the community, ensuring that existing user groups are accounted for. A more inclusive approach could involve phased renovations that do not completely shutter the facilities or scheduling work in a way that minimally impacts league play.

Given these reasons, I urge owners to reconsider the current renovation plans. The community’s memories, well-being, and social connections are at stake.

Stand with us to protect this cherished part of our lives. Your signature is a step towards preserving a space that means so much to so many. Help us save our leagues and keep our community thriving by signing this petition today.
