According to the World Health Organization, exposure to high levels of noise can lead to health issues like stress-related illnesses, sleep disruption, hypertension and heart disease (WHO). Furthermore, dust particles from quarrying activities can exacerbate respiratory conditions like asthma.

Our town's wildlife is an integral part of what makes Alresford and Thorrington special. It's not just about preserving nature; it's about safeguarding our community’s health and well-being too. We urge the local authorities in Essex County Council to halt the proposed beginnings of quarrying operations in Alresford and Thorrington immediately.
