This vehement abuse of power is not just an attack on the citizens of Bangladesh, but a stark violation of human rights universally. Human Rights Watch reported in 2021 on the Bangladesh government's harsh crackdown on freedom of speech and right to peaceful protest. Furthermore, the Asian Human Rights Commission has identified numerous instances of discarded bodies attributable to enforced disappearances, allegedly connected to the government. These horrific acts of politicide and democide are escalating, causing unimaginable suffering and trauma. Therefore, we must bring an immediate halt to this repressive regime's acts by demanding that international authorities intervene promptly.
