The Issue

We stand before you as the owners of a local independent cafe off the charming Wirral Way. Our livelihood hinges on the frequent visitors who travel to and fro this peaceful path; people who stop by our humble establishment for a warm cup of tea or a hearty sandwich. We feel a sense of community, hinging on the exchanges that occur within our cafe walls. However, the idea of enforcing a pay & display parking policy on Lower Banks Road threatens our survival.

We represent the only business lining this serene street, and there's an absence of other noteworthy attractions that can justify charging for parking. Lower Heswall's beauty stems from its tranquility, not overcrowded tourist attractions. Thus, the proposed introduction of such a financial toll seems out of place, unnecessary, and damaging to our business.

An article by Bus Insider UK states that small businesses like ours are responsible for nearly two-thirds of new job creations. However, we fear that such drastic changes would put our business - and thus, these job opportunities - at grave risk.

We earnestly request our local authorities and town council to abandon their plans of introducing a pay & display parking scheme on Lower Banks Road. Let's continue to support local businesses and preserve the unique charm of Lower Heswall.

We urge you to sign our petition. Now is the time to fight for our community's vitality and local economy. Your signature is not just a show of support, but a lifeline for our business.
