Halt Noncompliant Wireless Towers in Terrebonne Parish

Residents of Terrebonne Parish are requesting immediate transparency and enforcement concerning macro towers, small wireless facilities, and related telecommunications structures located throughout the Parish.

Residents living near certain facilities have reported serious health problems and other adverse experiences. These reports deserve to be documented and evaluated carefully. They should not be ignored,

More importantly, records made available to residents have raised substantial unanswered questions concerning whether certain facilities received all required permits, setback approvals, inspections, variances, environmental reviews, and documentation of compliance with applicable Parish ordinances and federal requirements.

We therefore petition Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government to:

Conduct an independent, facility-by-facility audit of all macro towers, small wireless facilities, antennas, and related structures within Terrebonne Parish.
Publish the permit number, owner, operator, location, approval date, inspections, applicable setbacks, variances or exemptions, and supporting authorization for every facility.
Require each operator to provide current documentation demonstrating compliance with applicable FCC radiofrequency-exposure requirements and all other applicable federal, state, and Parish requirements.
Obtain independent, properly conducted RF measurements at selected facilities and publicly release the equipment used, testing methodology, operating conditions, locations measured, complete results, and the qualifications of the testing professional.
Identify every facility for which required permits, inspections, setback approvals, variance records, or compliance documentation cannot be produced.
Use every lawful enforcement remedy available—including stop-work orders, permit suspension or revocation proceedings, corrective-action orders, civil enforcement, or judicial relief—against facilities determined through documented proceedings to be noncompliant.
Temporarily pause approval of new tower construction, to the extent legally permissible, until the Parish establishes and publicly implements a consistent compliance-review process.
Hold a public hearing and release the audit, testing results, supporting records, and proposed corrective actions before final decisions are made.
We are not asking the Parish to presume that every wireless facility is unlawful. We are demanding that every facility be documented, reviewed, and held to the requirements that apply to it.

Public infrastructure must be accompanied by transparency, lawful permitting, meaningful oversight, and accountability. Terrebonne Parish residents deserve proof that the rules intended to protect their homes, property, safety, and quality of life are being followed.
