Multiple large housing developments are being planned and built across The Isle of Sheppey’s towns and villages, transforming our once familiar landscapes into sprawling estates. What is most worrisome is the fact that our infrastructure simply cannot keep up.

Our road networks are unprepared to handle the impending traffic surge. Families are being scattered with our children sent to schools miles away because our local institutions are already at full capacity. Accessing medical and hospital services has turned into an uphill struggle due to the lack of facilities in our immediate surroundings. 

Overwhelming our existing infrastructure with relentless development is not just detrimental but downright dangerous. A community's growth should be synchronised with the growth of its infrastructure. Adding population without improving services only breeds congestion, stress, and, ultimately, decline.

We insist that any future housing developments, or those which are in planning, have been approved, or are about to commence construction, be paused until corresponding infrastructure upgrades are in place – safe roads, extended school capacity, and healthcare facilities. We aren't against growth; we simply demand it to be sustainable, responsible, and in line with our needs.
