As homeowners on Arlington Way, Magnolia Drive, Valencia Drive, and Ormond Parkway, we're experiencing the distressing impact of new developments at the entrance of Valencia Dr and Magnolia Dr off of A1A in Ormond Beach, Florida. The Developer D.R Horton of the new housing subdivision, currently under construction, is causing severe flooding problems that seriously harm our properties whenever it rains. The developer D.R. Horton has chosen to elevate the land, a decision that, we believe, contradicts the “Reasonable Use” Rule.

Flooding is not merely a nuisance; it can significantly damage our homes, risk our safety, and devalue our properties. Since the initiation of this new construction project, we have noticed these damaging consequences increasingly. 

Thus, we urge the local authorities and the developer to halt construction until the developer's stormwater drainage system can be reliably assessed and regulated for efficacy and safety. We need developers who respect the environment, prioritize sustainability, and consider the well-being of existing residents. This might be considered a bold call to action, but it is rooted in the desire for fair treatment, safety, and preservation of property value.
