For many students and community members of College Park and Berwyn Heights, Paint Branch Stream Valley Park is a beloved break from the commercialization of the surrounding area. There are several multi-story apartment complexes already being built near the Taco Bell on Baltimore Ave and two projects south of College Park Towers along Hartwick Rd. Unfortunately there are announced plans for yet again more apartment buildings and development across wooded areas in Paint Branch Stream Valley Park. The price tag for this park has been stated at $300 million, however I believe that the students, community members, dogs going on walks in this park, deer prancing along the beautiful Paint Branch stream,  appreciate this outdoor space much more.  If you have spent time in the park with it’s somehow aesthetically pleasing rusty bridges then you know that it is a treasure we cannot give up.  Additionally more expensive luxury apartments will continue to accelerate rent prices in the College Park area.  Please share this petition with your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, and your siblings, get ready to give capitalism a run for its money!
