Many students feel that the dress code in the Hall County School District is far too harsh, especially females. Most of the rules in the dress code only apply to these young women, because they will “distract” the boys. It is unfair that females are not aloud to wear certain items of clothing’s just to keep to the boys from being distracted. Also, being that we are in Georgia, it is always fairly warm. Most of the shorts that students will wear will come a little above the knee, which of course is against dress code. In the pounding heat, some students have no other choice than to wear shorts that almost qualify as capris or jeans. The other types of shorts like girls Nike gym shorts and things similar to , are also not aloud. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of rules that should be exempt, but there are also some that make sense, for example strapless dresses, see through clothing, shorts with no side seems...etc. These rules are some of the many that are affective, but the affective are still tremendously outnumbered by the ones that are simply too strict. We, as the students of Hall county,  who are forced to go to school under these rules are extremely  unhappy. Our hard working parents have had to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on new clothes, because their old ones did not fit into the strict dress code. All of us, the students need to work together and use the power that are our voices , and ask for some of the rules to be slightly adjusted or changed. No one wants to go to a school where you couldn’t wear certain things because they were seen as “distracting”, so why should we?
