PETITION AGAINST SHENGLI ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION (G) CO. LTD.

It is not my nature to beg. But in the last 2 years, I have been begging Shengli Company thru letters, visits and peaceful demos on completion of the Mutarakwa – Thogoto road. They have done nothing or very little.

Now, come to think of their works…

1. THOGOTO – MUTARAKWA ROAD:- No markings, no pedestrian walkways, very narrow, no signage, no bumps at vital places, etc. We have lost dozens of lives and hundreds of injuries already.

2. CHUNGA MALI – KIROE – MAKUTANO ROAD:- This road was launched a few months ago. Contractor (Shengli) has left site already and no work is ongoing currently.

3. IKA ITHANO – NDUMA – MBOROTI ROAD:- This road was tarmacked up to the Kikuyu – Limuru boundary. 3 years later, the Nduma to Mboroti section is in a terrible condition especially when it rains.

4. THIGIO SHOPPING CENTRE TARMAC – All the shopping centres next to tarmac in Ndeiya ward were tarmacked but Thigio was left out. Only some lumps of soil were dumped there.

To this end, I will appeal to the national government and all parastatals involved to review the quality of works done by Shengli. We cannot loose any more lives or injuries or even slow pace at work. Even our president wants works done, fast and in good quality. If worse comes to worst, I will head to courts later. This company needs to shape up or be black listed.
