HEB was not only a grocery store to many of us in Nacogdoches, Tx. It was also a community. Believe it or not, we used to have an H-E-B. That is no longer HEB but, You see, a Brookshire Brothers and it was located just down the street, on a piece of land that is now the Walmart Neighborhood Market. H-E-B closed down, Brookshire Brothers moved into the building, and that was that. When H-E-B left the building that you see above, it just went away. It didn't relocate to a different part of town; it left Nacogdoches for good. At the time, there weren't even rumors of a relocation or a re-opening at a later date. It just left. Will it come back? That’s why this petition was created in favor of The whole city of NACOGDOCHES, TX does not have any grocery stores that provide quality foods, goods, and other things that Walmart, Brookshire Brothers, and Kroger don’t provide. They are partally considered quality grocery stores, and they do not have good quality food, and they are not always fully stocked, even before COVID. We need and deserve an actual grocery store in our city so we don’t have to drive to another city to get our groceries. We have so much land out here and the location could be anywhere, so it doesn’t matter where exactly as long as it’s in Nacogdoches. We've all been talking about this on social media, and now it’s time to do something about it. There is still so much we need here in the city of Nacogdoches, but we have to start somewhere and I know everyone would agree that we need HEB out here in Nacogdoches like yesterday.
