As a dedicated fan of the Warhammer 40k universe for over three decades, I have invested emotionally, spiritually, and financially into this rich and immersive setting. The recent changes made by Games Workshop (GW), specifically the introduction of female Custodes, have disrupted the continuity and immersion that many fans value deeply. These alterations seem to be driven by a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) political agenda. Rather than respect for the established lore, and long term core fans, which over time through their support, have helped to turn 40k into the riveting setting it is today.

This is not an issue of negating sexual equality or ‘ewww girls’, but rather about preserving the integrity of a beloved intellectual property. It's about respecting a universe we've helped shape over time with our dedication and passion. We are not against inclusion (the setting already has it in spades), in our beloved universe; rather we want these already existing elements, such as the Sisters of Silence, expanded upon thoughtfully, without disrupting what makes Warhammer 40k unique. The recent changes appear to pander to vocal minorities at the expense of long-term fans who have supported GW throughout its long journey.

Warhammer 40k has always been known for its deep lore that spans across various novels, games, miniatures, and more. This sudden shift in lore feels like an attempt by GW to capitalize on current social trends without considering the core, loyal fan-base. Which through it’s support has kept Games Workshop alive, and over time, elevated the company to the position it is in today.

This isn't about excluding females from the Warhammer universe; it's about maintaining consistency within its established lore. We ask GW to reconsider these recent changes regarding female Custodes as they disrupt continuity in an otherwise meticulously crafted universe.
