We are requesting that the government of Lake County, Ohio, declare itself a Second Amendment Sanctuary to protect the rights of its residents. 

A Second Amendment Sanctuary refers to resolutions adopted by some jurisdictions in the United States to not expend resources to enforce certain gun control measures perceived as violative of the Second Amendment. 

This petition is in response to a current nationwide trend of attempts to restrict the rights guaranteed in the second amendment to the U.S. Constitution. 

Many counties in the United States have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries including several counties in Ohio. 

The US constitution states plainly that “the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.  We demand that our county be declared a “Second Amendment Sanctuary County” and that our God given rights be preserved.
