I have started this petition after reading the story of Jenson ... a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was advertised on Gumtree (UK) FREE TO A GOOD HOME on 14th April 2015. Less than 24 hours after he was picked up Jenson was found dead with "suspected" injuries from either being used as bait or from being in a dog fight !

Jenson's life was cut cruelly short at the hands of dog fighters ... used as a BAIT dog to help fighting dogs develop and/or improve their killer instincts or due to the "underground", barbaric and needless act of dog fighting for people's so-called pleasure. These dogs suffer unimaginable torture and pain at the hands of inhuman exploiters. Once the dog has left the care of their previous owners freely or cheaply they have no control over what happens ... who the dog is passed on to or the fate it may meet !

Taken from RSPCA website ... "For a dog unfortunate enough to fall into the hands of dog fighters, life is full of pain and violence. Dogs are treated as nothing more than pieces of sporting equipment to be disposed of when damaged. After fights many dogs are left with horrific injuries and rather than taking them to a vet, dog fighters will perform crude surgeries without  anaesthetic ... often using staple guns or super glue to close up wounds. Most dogs used for fighting will ultimately either be killed in the ring, die as a result of their injuries or in some cases be killed by their owners."

Please support this petition as it is one less way for animals to be advertised as free or cheap. Lets help to cut off the DOG FIGHTERS supply. I also want it to raise awareness and hopefully make people think twice before advertising dogs on these two sites FREE or CHEAP. The adverts are becoming a constant source for acquiring dogs to be used immorally and illegally.
