Gulf fugitives in Europe - dangers and extradition requirement

The Issue

We, the undersigned, express our grave concern about the growing threat posed by fugitives from Gulf countries who exploit the freedoms provided by European nations to evade justice and engage in harmful activities, including terrorism and violent crimes.

Keeping in consideration of the December 22 attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, carried out by a fugitive from the Gulf region. This tragic event is a stark reminder of the vulnerability Europe is in right now.
Many fugitives from Gulf countries flee to Europe, using the freedom of movement and the rights granted to asylum seekers to carry out acts of terror or violence. The lack of stringent vetting processes or efficient monitoring in certain cases allows such individuals to operate with relative impunity, putting both local citizens and international security at risk.
There are growing networks of individuals supporting Gulf fugitives who encourage further escape and asylum applications to European countries. These networks may inadvertently or deliberately incite terrorism, extremism, or violence within Europe, leading to the radicalization of vulnerable individuals who then become perpetrators of future attacks.
We urge European countries to implement stricter and more thorough vetting processes for asylum seekers, particularly those coming from conflict regions or authoritarian regimes.

We call for the establishment or enhancement of extradition agreements between European nations and Gulf countries to ensure that fugitives who have committed crimes or are suspected of terrorist activities can be swiftly returned to their home countries for prosecution.

We must take immediate action to protect our communities and preserve the values of peace, security, and justice. Gulf fugitives must be held accountable for their actions and not be allowed to exploit the freedoms they find in Europe to carry out violence.*
